You can pick the same CP as long as you don't win on that stage. If you win then you can't play on it again.

You should be able to any character you want (if MK isn't banned). An amateur bracket is a bracket for people that don't make it out of pools. Amateur brackets usually cost $3 on top of the other entry fee. Pools is a group a 4-6 players who all play each other and the top 2-3 players of the pool go on to Pro bracket. If you don't make it out of pools you can just wait around to do friendlies or enter the amateur bracket.

Also if you are playing a snake offline you want to have 4th port (the one with the green shield). You want this because if snake grabs you, with 4th port, and one of grenades go off you both will take % damage but the person with the lower port will have knock-back, and the higher port will not have any knock-back (He takes the hit like a boss lol)
